EIBIR is pleased to be a partner in CHAIN, the European Cardiovascular Health data and AI Network.
CHAIN is a three-year European collaboration for trustworthy AI in cardiovascular and related non-communicable disease care coordinated by the European Society of Cardiology and co-funded by the European Union’s EU4Health programme. It brings together 53 partners from 20 countries to help close the gap between promising AI solutions and their safe, effective and scalable use in cardiovascular care. CHAIN will connect a federated data ecosystem, AI evaluation and deployment services, regulatory support and six real-world use cases to generate practical evidence, tools and guidance for healthcare systems across Europe.
Building on its extensive experience in European biomedical imaging research and health data initiatives, including coordination of EUCAIM, EIBIR plays a key role in the CHAIN project by bringing in its expertise from EUCAIM and the COMPASS-AI Flagship fostering collaboration with major European health data and AI initiatives, supporting engagement of the imaging community and other stakeholders, and contributing to the long-term sustainability of the project’s outcomes. Through its established networks in medical imaging, digital health and research and data infrastructures, EIBIR contributes to the dissemination of project results, supports the development of a European community of practice for AI in cardiovascular health, and helps ensure that CHAIN’s innovations can be sustainably adopted and scaled across diverse healthcare settings.
Partners meet on 7-8 October 2026 in Sophia Antipolis, France, to kick off this ambitious collaboration.
