The European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research (EIBIR) encourages its members and partners to register for the newly established EHDS Stakeholder Community, a European Commission initiative supporting stakeholder engagement in the implementation of the European Health Data Space (EHDS).

For the biomedical imaging community, participation is particularly important. Through its coordination of EUCAIM (European Federation for Cancer Images), EIBIR is already contributing to the development of a federated European infrastructure for cancer imaging data. The experience gained through EUCAIM provides valuable insights into many of the challenges that EHDS seeks to address, including interoperability, secure data access, AI development, governance and cross-border collaboration.

The EHDS Stakeholder Community offers a platform where these practical experiences can contribute to discussions around EHDS implementation. Members can exchange expertise with stakeholders from across Europe, access resources and guidance, and participate in webinars, consultations and discussions on the future of health data sharing and reuse.

Why your participation matters

The successful implementation of EHDS will be critical for the future use of medical imaging data in healthcare, research and innovation. Imaging stakeholders have a unique opportunity to ensure that existing investments in European infrastructures, including EUCAIM/Cancer Image Europe, are effectively connected with the emerging EHDS framework.

By joining the Stakeholder Community, you can:

  • $
Contribute imaging expertise to EHDS implementation discussions
  • $
Share practical experience from European imaging research infrastructures
  • $
Stay informed about policy and technical developments
  • $
Build connections across the European health data ecosystem
  • $
Help maximise the impact and sustainability of projects such as EUCAIM

Strong engagement from the imaging community will help ensure that EHDS supports innovation while enabling secure, trustworthy and effective use of health data for the benefit of patients, researchers and healthcare systems.

How to register

The EHDS Stakeholder Community is hosted on the EU Health Policy Platform and is open to organisations and individuals working with health data across Europe. Interested stakeholders can register through the European Commission's EHDS Stakeholder Community webpage and gain access to community activities, resources and discussions.
