Major success for Biomedical Imaging in Horizon 2020

newsh2020

The European Commission has released the results of the last ICT and Health calls. We are very proud to announce that 6 out of 9 stage 2 proposals with EIBIR participation have been favourably evaluated and passed the threshold.

Four projects will receive EC funding and have been invited to grant agreement negotiations. Two projects scored the maximum number of 15 points and received outstanding evaluation reports.

This high number of positive evaluations is a huge success, considering the tough competition and generally low success rates for Horizon 2020 (14.5% as of March 2015), and it also means that EIBIR is now involved in 25% of successful proposals for the call Personalising Health and Care: Development of new diagnostic tools and technologies: in vivo medical imaging technologies (PHC-11-2015).

EIBIR will act as the project coordinator for the HYPMED project, on hybrid PET/MRI in breast cancer, and will serve as a project management and dissemination/communication partner in three other projects: GLINT, imaging of neoplastic tumours; LUCA, novel imaging of thyroid nodules; and CoSTREAM, co-occurrence of stroke and Alzheimer’s.
Once the grant agreement negotiations have concluded, start dates for the projects will be announced and the kick-off meetings will take place. Websites and corporate identities for the projects will be developed early on to allow the scientific community and general public to keep up with the latest progress.
