Ten years of supporting research
This year marks the ten-year anniversary of the European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research. Over the course of the past decade EIBIR has helped shape the landscape of European biomedical imaging research.
Recently, EIBIR received favourable evaluations for six H2020 submissions, with four projects being funded. This is a major achievement considering the low success rate for Horizon 2020 proposals and proves just how valuable EIBIR’s work has become to the field of biomedical imaging research.
Over the past decade, over 63 million Euro in funding was acquired by EIBIR for biomedical imaging research. EIBIR was involved in 8 projects under the European Commission’s 6th and 7th Framework Programmes, 2 COST actions, 2 industry-initiated clinical studies and 3 EC tender projects. For more information about these projects, please visit the projects section of this website.
In the coming years, EIBIR will continue its work on Horizon 2020 and upcoming calls of relevance to the biomedical imaging community and keeping promoting common initiatives and interoperability in the field of biomedical imaging. EIBIR also has taken steps to increase and enhance the services EIBIR offers to researchers, and launched EIBIR’s new Virtual Clinical Trial Unit, which aims to ease the administrative burden and complexity inherent in setting up a clinical study.
“EIBIR is looking forward to working with you to make your research ideas a reality,” said EIBIR Scientific Director Prof. Gabriel Krestin.
